Ehsan Tarinia Gilani (Persian: احسان تارینیا گیلانی) was born on February 8 (19 Bahman) in the city of Sanandaj, located in Kurdistan Province, Iran.
He was raised in a family of dual cultural heritage — a father from Gilan in northern Iran and a mother from Kurdistan in the west. This duality of background instilled in him, from an early age, a deep, multidimensional, and humanistic understanding of Iran’s linguistic, ethnic, and intellectual diversity.
Ehsan grew up immersed in three languages and cultures: Gilaki, Kurdish, and Persian. Over the years, he went on to learn French, German, English, and Luxembourgish, and today he is fluent in seven languages.
He holds Iranian and Luxembourgish nationalities and has lived in Luxembourg for more than two decades — a country that has become both a safe haven and his second home.
🪶 The Beginning of His Intellectual and Journalistic Path
Ehsan entered the world of journalism at the age of sixteen. In a country where freedom of expression was restricted and censorship was widespread under the ruling regime, he turned his pen into a silent yet powerful tool of resistance.
His earliest writings were published in local and student magazines, focusing mainly on social, philosophical, and human conditions in modern society.
During those years, due to political pressure and censorship, he continued publishing under the pseudonym Ahura Parsa — a name that later became his intellectual signature and a symbol of defiance against religious authoritarianism.
As civic and political repression in Iran intensified, Ehsan came under growing pressure, ultimately forcing him into exile. Yet, his departure from Iran did not end his journalistic mission — it marked the beginning of a freer and more outspoken chapter in his professional life.
🧭 Education and Academic Path
Alongside his media career, Ehsan pursued his academic path with great dedication.
He holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering (Biomechanics). This unique combination — bridging mind and body, science and anthropology — has profoundly shaped his analytical and human-centered perspective on society.
Beyond formal education, he has completed numerous specialized courses in programming, graphic design, digital marketing, translation, journalism, and web design.
Ehsan was among the first individuals to integrate technology and media within Luxembourg’s multicultural landscape, using them to create a multilingual and cross-cultural media platform.
🗞️ Career, Media Work, and Migration
After migrating to Luxembourg in the mid-2000s, Ehsan continued working as a freelance journalist and certified translator.
He is recognized as an official translator of Persian and Kurdish for the Luxembourg Police and Courts, playing a key role in bridging communication between official institutions and the Iranian and Kurdish immigrant communities.
More significantly, he became the founder of one of the first Persian-language media platforms in Luxembourg — an independent media group named SIMOURQ, which gradually evolved into three active divisions:

Under Ehsan’s direction, Simourq gradually grew from a personal initiative into an independent cultural and media institution, with the mission to “amplify the voices of the voiceless” — the voices of migrants, freedom-seekers, and those living under the shadow of censorship.

Live your life your own way, by your own rules, with your own inner faith. People always need something to talk about; whatever you do, they will have something to say.
Be grounded. Eat with your hands. Sit on the floor. Walk barefoot in the rain. Be joyful and enjoy life.
What do you expect from people? They even gossip behind their God’s back.”
